Red Hill Gym is proud to announce that we are now offering Tae Kwon Do classes with Harry Viens, 4th level black belt. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art similar to Karate but with emphasis in kicking and jumping kicks.

The focus of the classes will be on providing students with the ability to defend themselves while getting good overall physical exercise. The primary benefits realized from this training will be: aerobic exercise, improved flexibility and range of motion, improved balance and coordination, greater body self-awareness and control, and respect, modesty and humility.

The classes will be given Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am, 3pm and 6pm. Call the gym at 253-7570 for details.

Mat Pilates is offered Wednesday at 5:15pm. Pilates is the grandfather of core exercise.
Other classes offered are yoga, spinning, step, power toning, ball class and Tai Chi. There is something for everyone. Try us out – the initial visit is free.

BELLY DANCING IS BACK!
Monday nights at 4pm and 5:30pm Ellen Perkins will teach all the traditional moves. Six classes for $60- first session begins September 22nd. Dance for your body, dance for your soul, dance for the joy.

WHAT IS IT? This workshop reviews the proper biomechanics, basic moves, potential injuries, ideal format and choreography for kickboxing classes.

WHO IS IT FOR?
This workshop is for fitness professionals and martial artists who want to teach today’s hottest workout with safe techniques for group exercise.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
The workshop is $239* (less a 10% discount for current AFAA members. This fee includes: study guide, hand wraps, certificate and wallet card upon successful completion of exams and proof of CPR certification, one-year AFAA membership ($68 value) or membership extension to current members, 5 CEUs..

PRACTICAL PILATES Sunday 11/9/2008 9am-6pm
WHAT IS IT? This one-day introductory course combines the best of both Eastern and Western philosophies and traditions based on the original works of the late Joseph H. Pilates. You will practice a variety of practical mat pilates exercises with a focus on conditioning the body from the inside out. Learn the importance of core stabilization, muscle balance, proper alignment, strength and flexibility while integrating the concept of mindfulness, fluidity and grace.

For personal trainers and group exercise instructors.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
