Letter of Inspiration

from Stephanie B., an RN at Lakes Region General Hospital.

“I moved to Moultonborough full time six years ago, and like many who make that life change, fell into a depression and turned to food for comfort. Without realizing it I had grown from a size ten to a size eighteen. Last year a girlfriend of mine from work joined weight-watchers and through her I started dieting on the weight-watchers plan. A few months later I decided I would feel better and lose weight faster if I exercised, so I joined The Red Hill Gym. I met with Ellen who measured and weighed me at our first visit. I was horrified to see that I weighed 175 pounds-my scale at home said I was 155 pounds! I was devastated and more determined than ever to lose that weight and get back into shape. My back hurt all the time and I would get out of breath just walking across the parking lot.

It has been one year and three months since then. I still meet with Ellen for new challenges and I continue to follow the weight-watchers diet plan, although I do cheat now and then. I have lost fifty two pounds and eleven inches off my waist. More importantly, I have lost thirty two pounds of pure fat, my back does not hurt and I can actually run three miles at a time!
Thank you Ellen and everyone at Red Hill Gym for your encouragement and help.

Stephanie B.
